We enjoyed two weeks in Thailand, spending time in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Tao and Koh Samui. Here’s
another boring post about how we spent our money during those 14 days. Prices in USD & include both of us.
Baan Glang Soi, Bangkok: $68.56
Holiday Inn, Chiang Mai: $122.40
KDM Residence, Bangkok: $25.99
Caccooning Hotel, Koh Samui: $29.55
Flight Bangkok to Chiang Mai: $86.66
Flight Chiang Mai to Bangkok: $57.81
Flight & Ferry from Bangkok to Koh Tao: $159.89
Elephant Nature Park, Chiang Mai: $140
PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Certification, Koh Tao: $651.05
We paid in cash for our meals/drinks
Total Per Person, Per Day: $73.17
Things to Note
We knew we were going to spend more money in Thailand because of the activities we wanted to do, and the traveling it takes to get from one place to another. The main reason our per day spend was so high is because of our PADI Open Water certification, which included our accommodation in Koh Tao and was totally worth it.
Thailand could be extremely cheap if you make some choices about what to spend your money on (a.k.a. budget, which we’re working on…).
